Ingredient Sourcing Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Ingredient Sourcing Specialist to support food product development, R&D and commercial production for a US‑based client. Working remotely, you will identify and secure food ingredients, dairy components, additives, stabilizers and packaging materials from qualified suppliers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Source food ingredients, raw materials and specialty components for product development and commercial production.
• Research and identify ingredient manufacturers, distributors and suppliers globally.
• Obtain pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, specifications, COAs and technical documentation.
• Coordinate ingredient sample requests for R&D and product testing.
• Compare suppliers on quality, certifications, pricing and availability.
• Assist with ingredient substitutions and alternative sourcing solutions.
• Maintain supplier databases and sourcing records.
• Support procurement of packaging materials and related product components.
• Build and maintain relationships with ingredient manufacturers, distributors and brokers.
• Monitor ingredient availability, market trends and pricing.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing or supply chain, preferably in the food industry.
• Proven experience sourcing food ingredients, raw materials or specialty food components.
• Strong online research and supplier sourcing abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
• Fluent written and spoken English (CEFR C1 or equivalent).
