Internal Auditor – Experienced (Ex Big 20)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit team of a leading fertilizer producer in Cairo. The role will involve executing audit engagements, supporting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with the Internal Audit Manual and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned audit engagements in line with the approved audit plan, scope, and timelines.
• Support the preparation and implementation of a risk‑based audit plan across operational and financial activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of the annual audit plan.
• Perform audits using the methodology defined in the Internal Audit Manual.
• Prepare clear, analytical audit reports with practical, value‑adding recommendations.
• Escalate significant control weaknesses, compliance issues, governance concerns, and key risk exposures to Internal Audit management.
• Support consulting and advisory engagements related to governance, risk management, and internal controls.
• Participate in special investigations and ad‑hoc audits as required.
• Follow up on management action plans and monitor remediation progress.
• Assist in preparing Audit Committee presentations and internal management reports.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across all organizational levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in internal audit, preferably within a large, multinational environment.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CFE or CISA are a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, judgment and decision‑making abilities under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• High integrity, professionalism and a control‑focused mindset.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Arabic (must).

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience using data‑analytics and audit tools for testing, analysis and reporting.
