IP/MPLS, IXP & IGW Designer (Damascus)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced network designer to create and document IP/MPLS core, Internet Exchange Point (IXP) and International Gateway (IGW) solutions for a major project based in Damascus. The role requires delivering scalable, high‑performance designs that meet engineering standards, resiliency requirements and multi‑vendor interoperability.

Key responsibilities

• Design MPLS backbone solutions including BGP, IS‑IS/OSPF, Segment Routing, MPLS‑TE and L2/L3 VPN services.
• Produce high‑level and low‑level design documents for IP/MPLS core, IXP and IGW domains.
• Define QoS architecture, traffic classification, marking and queuing models.
• Design EVPN, multicast, service‑chaining and DDoS protection architectures on the MPLS backbone.
• Develop IXP switching fabric, VLAN segmentation, peering policies and route‑server designs.
• Create IGW interconnection models, protection mechanisms and security integration.
• Perform routing topology studies, traffic flow analysis, capacity planning and traffic engineering.
• Validate multi‑vendor designs, participate in design reviews and support implementation teams during integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in IP/MPLS core network design and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, IS‑IS, OSPF, Segment Routing, EVPN and QoS architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with IXP and international gateway design.
