Junior Cyber Security Officer

About the role

MedNet Egypt is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Officer to support the day‑to‑day operations of its digital defence systems. This entry‑level position offers the chance to work within a leading managed‑care organization and develop practical security skills.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security incidents using SIEM, EDR and firewall tools and take required actions.
• Assist in deploying and updating security measures, including EDR agents and patches.
• Support administration of file‑access permissions and monitor network security access.
• Participate in regular vulnerability scanning and help IT teams remediate identified issues.
• Act as a junior member in security breach investigations, collecting logs and data for senior analysts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of security procedures, audit results and system configurations.
• Help prepare staff security training materials and respond to basic security queries.
• Support internal and external security audits by gathering required evidence and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in IT or a basic security role (internships or junior support acceptable).
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP).
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
• Exposure to security tools such as antivirus, firewalls or basic vulnerability scanners.
• Relevant certifications are a plus (CompTIA Security+, CEH, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Cisco CCST Cybersecurity).
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and good communication skills.
