Junior Database Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Database Administrator with 1–2 years of hands‑on experience to support our database environments. You will work closely with senior DBAs and development teams to ensure reliability, performance, and security of our SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of database systems.
• Perform day‑to‑day administration for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Monitor health, availability, and performance; escalate issues when needed.
• Execute routine backups, restores, and health checks.
• Support query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning under senior guidance.
• Help troubleshoot database‑related incidents affecting applications.
• Assist with security tasks such as managing user accounts and permissions.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T‑SQL, or similar scripting languages.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and support deployment activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in database administration or a similar role.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later preferred).
• Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
• Understanding of relational concepts, normalization, indexing, and SQL querying.
