Junior Software Engineer (Remote)

About the role

HendrenAI is looking for a Junior Engineer to join its fully‑remote engineering team. You will work on voice‑automation and AI solutions for the healthcare ecosystem, delivering well‑scoped features from design through production while gaining mentorship from senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver end‑to‑end features, including implementation, testing and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested code with increasing independence.
• Participate in code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Contribute to technical design discussions for the features you own.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to refine requirements and estimate effort.
• Operate within HendrenAI’s integration and compliance frameworks (Epic, athenahealth, Liberty/RedSail; HIPAA, SOC 2, HITECH).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
• Solid proficiency in at least one programming language and its associated framework.
• Experience with version control, automated testing and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to take a well‑scoped feature from requirements to production with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and related framework.
• Git or other version‑control systems.
• Automated testing tools.
• REST API development and consumption.
• Relational and NoSQL database experience.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI/ML, voice technology and healthcare software (preferred).
