Lead Agent - Ocean Pricing

About the role

Expeditors is seeking a Lead Agent – Ocean Pricing to design and manage competitive ocean freight pricing solutions. The role supports business growth, profitability, and customer retention by acting as the subject‑matter expert for ocean pricing across carrier, sales, product, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve ocean freight pricing models.
• Prepare and review accurate customer quotations, ensuring profitability.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with ocean carriers, co‑loaders, and service providers.
• Monitor market trends, carrier strategies, and rate fluctuations to inform pricing decisions.
• Analyze pricing performance and market conditions to identify opportunities.
• Support RFQs, tenders, and strategic pricing initiatives.
• Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to create customer‑focused solutions.
• Maintain pricing databases, quote logs, and reporting tools.
• Provide guidance to pricing team members and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Drive continuous improvement within the pricing function.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding, ocean pricing, or related logistics roles.
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight markets, carrier networks, routing options, and pricing methodologies.
• Proven ability to build relationships with carriers and service providers.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and pricing strategy.
• Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
• Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
