Lead Electrical Engineer – Industrial Projects

About the role

Qontrac is looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical works on large‑scale industrial construction projects. The role combines technical leadership, hands‑on site management, and full‑cycle project execution from planning through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all electrical construction activities in line with approved drawings and specifications.
• Supervise daily site operations, optimise manpower and resources.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, HSE, QC and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress, quality and schedule adherence.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and final handover.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4–8 years of proven experience in industrial electrical projects (plants, factories, utilities).
• Demonstrated leadership managing site engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of shop drawings, method statements, MIR, RFI, IR and WIR processes.
• Understanding of safety standards, QA/QC procedures and industrial regulations.

Required skills

• Power distribution systems, MDB/SMDB.
• Lighting and low‑current systems.
• Generators, UPS and grounding systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• MS Office; MS Project or Primavera is a plus.
