Lecturer/Associate Professor in Computational Materials Engineering

About the role

The German University in Cairo seeks a full‑time academic professional to join the Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science as a Lecturer or Associate Professor. The position focuses on computational modeling, simulation‑driven materials discovery, and digital materials design.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in simulation, computational methods, and design.
• Develop and modernize curricula using industry‑relevant simulation tools.
• Supervise student projects that employ simulation‑driven engineering design.
• Conduct high‑impact research in computational materials and manufacturing.
• Contribute to curriculum development with an emphasis on digital engineering.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field with a focus on computational modeling/simulation.
• Strong background in finite element methods and engineering simulation.
• Proven research record with publications in reputable peer‑reviewed journals.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and teaching skills.

Required skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and computational mechanics.
• Modeling of composite materials and advanced material systems.
• Simulation of additive manufacturing processes.
• Digital design and simulation‑driven product development.
• Multiphysics modeling using platforms such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools.
