Local Compliance Officer

About the role

The Local Compliance Officer (LCO) will lead the implementation of Holcim's Compliance Program in Egypt, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategy and local legal requirements. The role focuses on preventing, detecting, and remediating compliance risks while promoting the Code of Business Conduct across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Support and advise the Regional Compliance Officer (RCO) and Legal General Counsel on the annual Country Compliance Plan.
• Provide compliance‑related advice to the General Counsel and local management.
• Develop stakeholder relationships and enable cross‑functional understanding of compliance risk exposure.
• Assist investigations of potential compliance issues and help mitigate identified risks.
• Implement new or revised compliance policies, ensuring country‑specific adaptations.
• Oversee compliance processes such as Third‑Party Due Diligence and deliver relevant training.
• Contribute to new business projects by identifying and addressing key compliance risks.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk assessment, and local legal requirements.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (Procurement, HR, Sustainability, etc.).
• Experience in supporting investigations and providing practical remediation advice.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering training and promoting the Code of Business Conduct.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to anticipate and address compliance risks.

Required skills

• Understanding of compliance program elements (risk assessment, controls, training, monitoring, reporting).
• Experience with third‑party due diligence and compliance due diligence processes.
• Ability to adapt and deliver compliance training to local employees.
