Local Compliance Officer

About the role

Holcim is looking for a Local Compliance Officer in New Cairo who drives the implementation of the Group's Compliance Program in the country. The role covers the five elements of the program (risk assessment, controls, training and communications, monitoring, reporting and follow-up, and organization and governance) and works closely with the Area Compliance Officer, the country General Counsel and other functions such as Procurement, HR and Sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation of the annual Country Compliance Plan and give compliance advice to the General Counsel and Local Management
• Contribute to investigations of potential compliance issues and help Local Management mitigate or resolve compliance risks
• Advise on implementing new or revised compliance policies and ensure processes such as third-party due diligence and training are effective
• Deliver or train trainers on compliance training for local employees and contribute to new business projects through compliance due diligence
• Ensure reporting on key indicators, support a speaking-up culture and record Code of Business Conduct breaches
• Document compliance support activities, monitor remediation and review audit reports raising compliance issues
• Keep up with local laws and regulations and support the General Counsel in dealings with local authorities and regulators

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law or Business
• At least 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years with a strong compliance focus (anti-bribery and corruption, and some anti-money laundering, trade sanctions and data privacy)
• Ideally experience with compliance management systems and corporate investigations in a strong regulatory or enforcement jurisdiction
• Proven track record in an international environment
