Material Planning Engineer

About the role

The Material Planning Engineer is responsible for ensuring a reliable flow of raw materials to support production across multiple factories. You will create and maintain material plans, coordinate with suppliers, and work closely with production and warehouse teams to avoid shortages or excess inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Develop daily, weekly and monthly raw‑material plans and share them with the Raw Material Warehouse (RMWH).
• Determine material requirements, generate purchase requisitions and follow up on deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels, report overstock, stockouts and stagnant items, and take corrective actions.
• Manage warehouse storage capacity and safety‑stock targets using replenishment strategies.
• Maintain accurate supplier and item data, including lead times, MOQ and min/max inventory targets.
• Convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders and ensure supplier acknowledgment.
• Collaborate with Production Planning to reallocate or cancel orders when delays occur.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues such as non‑conforming material, specification gaps or vendor capacity constraints.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of supply‑chain planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of supply‑chain and planning logic.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
