Mechanical Construction Supervisor – Mining

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Construction Supervisor to lead field execution of capital construction projects at the Sukari gold mine. The role involves overseeing mechanical installations, heavy equipment rigging, and piping fabrication to ensure compliance with engineering designs, schedules, and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of mechanical crews, pipefitters, riggers, welders and coating technicians on‑site.
• Direct installation, lifting, positioning and alignment of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps and structural skids.
• Oversee structural steel erection and the fit‑up, welding and installation of large‑bore and small‑bore piping networks.
• Monitor progress against the project schedule and implement recovery plans for any delays.
• Ensure all work complies with ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, AWS D1.1, relevant API standards and ANSI dimensions.
• Coordinate welding procedures, qualified WPS, and NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) and conduct visual inspections.
• Control surface preparation and industrial coating applications to meet anti‑corrosion specifications.
• Interpret complex engineering packages, including isometric drawings and P&IDs.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of heavy industrial construction experience in mining, oil & gas or petrochemical infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary subcontractors on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of international engineering codes and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and quality.
