Mechanical Senior Engineer II

About the role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Mechanical Senior Engineer II to lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems for data centre facilities in Cairo. The role will manage complex customer projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring high availability, energy efficiency and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of data centre projects, including HVAC, cooling, chilled water and ventilation systems.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for mission‑critical mechanical infrastructure and review/approve engineering designs, specifications and calculations.
• Develop and optimise cooling strategies such as CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling, free cooling and containment solutions.
• Perform load calculations, airflow analysis and thermal modelling to meet Tier uptime requirements.
• Support the full project lifecycle from tender design to commissioning, reviewing vendor submittals and providing on‑site technical support.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering for data centre or mission‑critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (Uptime Institute Tier levels) and energy‑efficiency best practices.
• Ability to manage complex customer projects and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
