Microwave Engineer – Level 2 (Vendor Specialist)

About the role

We are looking for experienced Level 2 Microwave Engineers to install, configure, and optimise our transmission networks. The role is split into three vendor‑specific tracks (NEC, ZTE, Nera/Ceragon) and requires hands‑on expertise with the corresponding hardware and management software.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, install, commission, align and perform acceptance testing of microwave links.
• Configure and integrate vendor‑specific microwave systems and network management platforms.
• Conduct path analysis, line‑of‑sight verification and link‑budget calculations.
• Troubleshoot outages, interference and performance degradation in live environments.
• Execute software and capacity upgrades with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in microwave link deployment and engineering.
• Vendor‑specific expertise in one of the following tracks:
• NEC – hands‑on experience with NEC microwave systems and NEC NMS.
• ZTE – strong knowledge of ZTE microwave product lines, architecture and ZTE NMS/EMS.
• Nera or Ceragon – deep experience with Nera/Ceragon hardware and management software.

Required skills

• Microwave link planning, installation, commissioning, alignment, acceptance testing.
• Path analysis, LOS verification, link‑budget calculations.
• Layer‑2/Layer‑3 networking concepts, routing, switching, VLAN configuration.
• Troubleshooting of network outages, interference and degradation.
• Software and capacity upgrade procedures in live networks.
