Network Administrator – Industrial IT/OT

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Network Administrator / Network Engineer to manage, support and secure the network infrastructure of a manufacturing plant. The role covers both IT and OT environments, ensuring high availability, reliability and performance for enterprise and production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure (core, distribution and access layers).
• Support and troubleshoot core switches, access switches, wireless APs, controllers, firewalls, cabling and rack equipment.
• Implement VLANs, routing, IT/OT segmentation and high‑availability features such as failover and link aggregation.
• Manage VPN, secure remote access, SASE and ZTNA solutions for users, sites and third parties.
• Monitor network performance and capacity, and resolve connectivity issues affecting SAP, MES and production systems.
• Maintain firewall policies and security controls, preferably on Palo Alto and/or FortiGate platforms.
• Coordinate with vendors for implementation, licensing and escalation support.
• Document network diagrams, configurations and backup procedures.
• Support OT cybersecurity requirements, including industrial network visibility tools such as Nozomi.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on network administration or engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, subnetting and high‑availability troubleshooting.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Cisco Catalyst switches (e.g., 9200/9500) and Cisco Catalyst Center/DNA Center.
• Wireless infrastructure administration (access points and controllers).
• Firewall administration – Palo Alto and/or FortiGate.
• VPN, ZTNA, SASE and secure remote‑access concepts.
• Network monitoring tools and performance management platforms.
• Structured cabling standards and rack management.
• IT/OT segmentation and industrial network security.
• OT monitoring tools such as Nozomi or similar platforms.
