Packaging Development Associate Technologist - MEA

About the role

Kraft Heinz is looking for a Packaging Development Associate Technologist for its 6 October factory in Egypt. Reporting to the Packaging Development Manager, you will help drive the packaging agenda (innovation, renovation, productivity and ESG) in line with the company's strategic and annual plans. Your main focus is delivering new packaging solutions, value engineering and supply chain projects, and enabling ESG projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of new and improved packaging solutions within NPD, value engineering and ESG activities in the Middle East, Africa and Asia region.
• Coordinate packaging development and improvement projects for existing and new products.
• Support the creation of accurate and up-to-date packaging material specifications for all products.
• Follow up on and report sample studies of all designed and developed packages.
• Develop projects on alternative materials and packaging processes, including saving studies.
• Attend packaging trials, coordinate trial plans and materials, and support lab activities related to packaging.
• Coordinate supplier relations for new NPDs and technical specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering or Food Technology.
• 1-3 years of experience in packaging development.
• Proficiency in English.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, able to manage several projects at once, with critical thinking and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of key packaging formats, materials, their characteristics, analytical methods and regulatory and legal aspects.
• Understanding of key packaging machines and their operating principles.
