PHP Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This is an hourly, remote contractor position where you will act as the PHP Quality Assurance Lead for AI training projects. You will oversee the quality, consistency, and performance of trainers and reviewers, ensuring that AI‑generated PHP code meets strict technical and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Spot‑check PHP items and provide ongoing feedback through direct messages.
• Review AI‑generated PHP code, backend snippets, debugging responses, API examples, and database logic.
• Evaluate output against project guidelines, rubrics, and security best practices.
• Document issues, maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, and calibration tasks.
• Collaborate with remote teams using Discord, Google Sheets, GitHub, and project‑management dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Strong English communication skills for clear technical feedback.
• 3+ years of professional PHP development, backend engineering, code review, or QA.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, or engineers.

Required skills

• PHP 8+ (OOP, namespaces, Composer, autoloading, type declarations, sessions, HTTP, REST APIs).
• Database access and error handling (MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Frameworks: Laravel, Symfony.
• Testing tools: PHPUnit, Pest.
• Version control and CI/CD: GitHub, Docker, static analysis tools, PSR standards.
