Professor/Associate Professor – Public Law & International Law

About the role

The German University in Cairo (GUC) seeks highly qualified full‑time academic staff to teach undergraduate courses in Public Law and Public International Law, starting September 2026. The position involves delivering introductory and advanced modules, developing teaching materials, and contributing to the university’s research and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses such as Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Public International Law, International Organizations, Human Rights, and potentially Social Insurance and Tax Law.
• Prepare lecture notes, seminars, and assessment materials.
• Organise moot‑court competitions and support arbitration proceedings.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum development and research projects.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Law with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at university level.
• Research and practical experience in the listed legal fields.
• Active involvement in the legal community through memberships, consulting, or publications.

Required skills

• Expertise in Common Law subjects: Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Public International Law.
• Knowledge of International and Regional Organizations (UN, WTO, Arab League).
• Understanding of Human Rights principles.
