Project Manager – Roots For Growth (Assiut/Cairo)

About the role

The Roots for Growth Project Manager will lead the implementation of a multi‑year, results‑based financed project in Assiut Governorate, aimed at empowering household‑led micro‑enterprises and improving child well‑being through sustainable income growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the 27‑month Roots for Growth project in Assiut Governorate.
• Oversee delivery of entrepreneurship training, seed funding, technical assistance and business coaching for up to 800 household‑led micro‑enterprises.
• Manage project budget, monitor payment indicators and ensure compliance with SCI and donor standards.
• Coordinate with partners, conduct quarterly learning workshops and co‑design sessions, and adapt plans based on results.
• Ensure gender‑responsive and child‑sensitive approaches throughout all activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing development‑sector projects, preferably in micro‑enterprise or livelihood programmes.
• Strong understanding of results‑based financing, gender equity and child safeguarding requirements.
• Ability to travel frequently to Assiut (minimum 40% of time) and work flexibly during emergencies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
