Public Cloud Support Tech Specialist

About the role

Vodafone is looking for a Public Cloud Support Tech Specialist to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot its OpenStack and VMware environments. The role bridges operations and engineering teams to ensure platform reliability, performance, and availability across global services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain OpenStack services, applying patches and configuration changes.
• Troubleshoot service failures, performance issues, and infrastructure alerts.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain VMware components (vCenter, ESXi, NSX‑T, vCloud Director).
• Manage virtual machines, templates, resource pools, datastores, and perform capacity reporting.
• Execute incident, problem, and change management following ITIL processes.
• Ensure backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability configurations are functional.
• Collaborate with planning and implementation teams for new deployments and integrations.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of hands‑on OpenStack operations experience.
• 2–4 years of VMware administration experience, preferably with VCF.
• Strong Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) and networking fundamentals knowledge.
• Basic scripting ability (PowerCLI, Python, or Bash).
• VMware certification (VCP or higher) is preferred.
