Purchasing Manager – Construction Procurement

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the procurement function for our construction projects in El‑Sheikh Zayed City. The role will oversee material requests, supplier negotiations, and delivery coordination to ensure timely and cost‑effective supply of building materials.

Key responsibilities

• Process material requests from project sites, gather technical data, and negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Review and validate purchase orders, secure approvals from cost control and finance, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Coordinate logistics, monitor deliveries, develop weekly delivery plans and resolve customs or port bottlenecks.
• Maintain relationships with local and international vendors, evaluate performance using KPIs and establish new partnerships.
• Lead tendering processes (RFPs, RFQs, ITTs), draft scopes of work, specifications and negotiate contracts.
• Act as liaison between projects, suppliers and finance for payments, letters of credit and guarantees, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Maintain procurement logs, PO files and prepare regular reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 15+ years of procurement experience in construction or contracting companies.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials such as steel, concrete, MEP and finishing items.
• Proven expertise in negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management.
• High analytical, problem‑solving and leadership capabilities.
• Experience managing foreign procurement, customs clearance and logistics.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP or dedicated procurement software.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
