Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for executing purchase orders at the best price and highest quality within the required timeframes. Working closely with the procurement coordinator, finance, and warehouse teams, the role ensures smooth sourcing, ordering, and receipt of goods for Minapharm’s pharmaceutical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive purchase orders and verify specifications and quantities.
• Estimate costs for each purchase order.
• Execute orders directly from inventory for amounts under 2,000 EGP, ensuring lowest price and best quality.
• Obtain three price quotations for orders exceeding 2,000 EGP and submit them to the procurement coordinator.
• Record bid evaluations in the Oracle system and obtain approval from the requesting entity.
• Issue supply orders after management approval and forward them to suppliers.
• Coordinate with finance to issue checks and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Receive goods, deliver them to the warehouse, and manage inspection permits.
• Provide necessary documentation to the procurement coordinator for finance processing.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
• Ability to source new suppliers and evaluate alternatives.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills to secure optimal deals.
• Excellent task prioritisation and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Oracle procurement system.
