Quality Engineer - Alternative Fuels & Waste Materials

About the role

Holcim Group is looking for a Quality Engineer for its Geocycle unit in Suez. The role monitors and controls the quality of alternative fuels (AF), alternative raw materials (ARM) and waste materials across all pre-processing stages, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and the AF Control Plan. It also supports supplier quality improvement, billing validation and the maintenance of the integrated management system.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control quality parameters of AF, ARM and waste materials, from receiving and sampling through laboratory analysis, and coordinate with Supply Chain, Operations, the Plant Laboratory and suppliers
• Ensure accurate sampling, laboratory analysis and quality reporting, and update quality parameters in SAP for billing validation
• Maintain the Integrated Management System in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and take part in internal and external audits
• Assess waste materials and disposal procedures to protect product quality, operations and the environment
• Identify quality risks, investigate deviations and incidents, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including site visits to suppliers and plants
• Analyse quality performance, issue daily quality reports, validate parameters such as NCV for GJ calculations, and train technicians on sampling and analysis

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in chemical activities in heavy industry, cement and AF materials preferred
• Industrial experience in waste treatment operations or equivalent
