Radio Capacity Engineer (F/H)

About the role

As a Radio Capacity Engineer you will join a team of dimensioning specialists supporting subsidiaries within the REC. You will anticipate and adapt the capacity of 2G/3G/4G/5G (future 6G) mobile access networks to meet traffic forecasts, minimise congestion and ensure high service quality for voice and data.

Key responsibilities

• Perform annual and periodic budget studies to estimate capacity needs for each subsidiary.
• Gather and validate traffic and technology inputs from subsidiaries.
• Monitor the implementation of capacity plans and ensure compliance with architectural and sizing rules.
• Deploy and manage the Group’s congestion‑detection decision tree, supporting subsidiaries in congestion monitoring and mitigation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional experts across countries to align on network dimensioning standards.

Required profile

• Engineer with 1‑10+ years of experience in mobile telecommunications.
• Fluent in French or English.
• At least 2 years of experience in radio network planning or capacity forecasting.
• Strong business acumen: ability to listen to customer needs, persuade stakeholders and work in functional relationships.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of mobile network architecture and interfaces.
• Understanding of dimensioning criteria for 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies.
• Familiarity with radio procedures such as selection, reselection, handover, paging, CSFB and VoLTE.
• Knowledge of 3GPP standards and L3 protocol messages.
• Experience with dimensioning methodologies for downlink and mid‑link capacity.
• Awareness of the RANDim radio dimensioning tool (asset).
• Background in radio optimisation, design or troubleshooting (asset).
• Knowledge of network automation (C‑SON) and basic Visual Basic programming for data queries (asset).
