R&D Product Development Engineer – Home Appliances

About the role

The R&D Product Development Engineer will join a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and launching home‑appliance product ranges such as electric storage water heaters, towel dryers and domestic water‑heater heat pumps. The role ensures new products meet performance, safety, cost‑efficiency and environmental standards while aligning with market needs and company strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new home‑appliance products, integrating mechanical, thermal and electrical subsystems.
• Create 3D models, technical drawings and product documentation using PTC Creo.
• Evaluate concepts through prototyping and validation testing.
• Manage engineering change requests (ECRs) throughout the product lifecycle, including coordination of new variants, analysis of production feedback and implementation of design modifications.
• Maintain technical documentation (drawings, specifications, BOMs, work instructions) and ensure traceability via change‑control processes.
• Support industrialisation by transferring designs to production, creating BOMs, work instructions and small‑tooling, and facilitating operator training.
• Participate in risk assessments, DFMEA and PFMEA for proposed changes.
• Manage phase‑out activities of obsolete product ranges.

Required profile

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software – PTC Creo.
• 3D modelling and technical drawing creation.
• Knowledge of mechanical, thermal and electrical subsystem integration.
• Experience with engineering change management and documentation (ECR, BOM, work instructions).
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ERP, REACH and ROHS.
• Ability to conduct DFMEA and PFMEA.
• Industrialisation support and tooling design.
