Security Officer - Hotel, Cairo

About the role

A hotel in Cairo is looking for a dedicated and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of the premises, employees and visitors. The role works closely with other departments to keep a secure and welcoming environment, and calls for good observation skills, calmness under pressure and a commitment to high security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, securing doors, windows, gates and access points
• Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency services when needed
• Control facility access, verify identification, issue visitor badges and keep accurate visitor logs
• Screen personnel, vehicles and materials entering the premises according to protocol
• Operate and monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment, analysing footage for security concerns
• Investigate and document breaches, incidents and suspicious activity
• Carry out regular safety and security checks, help develop security policies and procedures, and provide professional customer service
• Maintain logs, reports and records of security activities, and take part in security training

Required profile

• 0-3 years of professional security experience, preferably in hotels, corporate facilities or similar settings
• Valid security licence and clearance as required by Egyptian regulations and local authorities
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Legal permission to work in Egypt
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Physical fitness, with constant standing and walking and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs

Required skills

• Strong observation skills and attention to detail
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows and security management systems
• Excellent written communication and English proficiency; Arabic or other local languages a plus
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and crisis management
