Senior Academic Coordinator – Access Project

About the role

The Senior Academic Coordinator will lead the Access Project’s English language programs in Egypt, ensuring high‑quality teaching and student outcomes. Reporting to the English Language & Training Programs Manager, the role oversees teacher recruitment, onboarding, performance monitoring, and curriculum implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit and select English language instructors in partnership with HR.
• Conduct onboarding, orientation, and systems training for new teachers.
• Schedule and carry out classroom observations, providing feedback using a standardized rubric.
• Maintain monthly skill‑inventory reports to support teacher assignments.
• Review weekly lesson plans submitted by teachers and give constructive feedback.
• Hold regular pre‑session meetings with instructors to address questions and provide support.
• Report competency gaps to the Senior EL Program Manager and help design professional‑development programs.
• Validate teacher payment requests and related documentation.
• Collaborate on forecasting and developing teacher recruitment plans.
• Investigate teacher complaints from public and corporate clients and coordinate appropriate actions.
• Develop annual workforce planning for English language teachers.
• Review and improve assessment tools to measure student learning.
• Ensure curriculum and structured lesson plans are consistently implemented.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing English language teachers or similar academic staff.
• Strong understanding of teacher performance evaluation and professional development.
• Ability to work closely with program managers and HR on recruitment and workforce planning.
• Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
