Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join almentor, a leading online learning platform focused on Arabic‑speaking communities. The role involves managing daily financial transactions, supporting month‑end and year‑end close, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions across accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, revenue, expenditure and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Process invoices, manage the accounts payable cycle and finalize payments.
• Issue customer invoices, follow up on collections, and handle the accounts receivable cycle.
• Prepare financial analyses, monthly and annual cash forecasts, and regular management reports.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitoring and annual audit readiness.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Manage tax activities such as income tax, WHT, VAT and salary tax, ensuring full compliance.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (English‑language program).
• 4‑6 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• CMA or IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Previous experience in e‑education or e‑commerce is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with accounting software and database management.
• Fluency in English.
