Senior Backend Software Engineer with AI

About the role

Envision Employment Solutions is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer with AI to join a multinational healthcare provider’s primary‑care platform team. You will design and deliver backend services that integrate large language models and AI agents, helping to shape the next generation of digital health solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship backend microservices, incorporating AI agents and LLM‑powered features.
• Design and implement MCP servers and tool interfaces enabling reliable interaction with internal APIs.
• Develop agent harnesses, orchestration layers, and memory modules to provide context and state for dependable AI behavior.
• Create evaluation frameworks and test harnesses to measure agent reliability, safety, and quality in a high‑stakes healthcare environment.
• Integrate large language models into production while managing latency, cost, and observability.
• Apply CI/CD principles, write tests, conduct code reviews, and refactor to maintain high code quality.
• Drive technological innovation and make deliberate design decisions about agent behavior.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Hands‑on experience building LLM‑powered applications, agents, or multi‑step orchestration workflows.
• Familiarity with major LLM APIs and frameworks such as Anthropic or OpenAI.
• Experience designing and running evaluations for non‑deterministic AI systems.
• Solid understanding of regulated, high‑stakes domains such as healthcare.
• English working proficiency.
