Senior Data Engineer (Scala & Python)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Scala and Python to join our data engineering team. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing scalable data infrastructure and pipelines across the full technology stack.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data solutions using Scala, Python, and Apache Spark.
• Implement and evaluate new technologies and frameworks such as HDFS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL to improve performance and scalability.
• Understand and optimise hardware and resource consumption for data engineering projects.
• Develop deep knowledge of servers, clusters, and distributed systems to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
• Design fault‑tolerant, high‑performance, and scalable data pipelines.
• Research emerging trends in data engineering, hardware, and distributed computing.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning within the team.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, propose technical solutions, and deliver high‑quality projects.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of professional experience as a software engineer with a focus on data engineering.
• Strong interest in hardware infrastructure and resource‑consumption optimisation.
• Proven ability to work in an Agile environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
