Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to own and evolve the live Tarasol platform, a critical system used daily by Egypt’s largest organisations. You will keep the platform stable for current customers while shaping the next‑generation product.

Key responsibilities

• Own the live platform end‑to‑end, including codebase, releases, integrations, enhancements and support backlog.
• Introduce disciplined ownership of a long‑lived enterprise codebase without disrupting customers.
• Deliver customer enhancements, favouring configuration over per‑customer forks.
• Act as the senior engineering voice in customer escalations, providing calm, precise and accountable responses.
• Inform the design of the next‑generation platform using current business logic, data and integration realities.
• Design data migration and customer cut‑over strategies for the transition.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend‑focused engineering experience, with at least 3 years on on‑premise enterprise applications.
• Production fluency with Node.js, microservices, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, MS SQL Server and Redis.
• Proven experience inheriting and improving complex codebases created by many contributors.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot performance and reliability issues end‑to‑end.
• Daily use of AI engineering tools for reading and documenting large codebases.
• Professional fluency in Arabic and English; based in Cairo and able to work in a hybrid model.
