Senior General Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior General Accountant to lead our accounting function at Emdad Solutions in Sheikh Zayed, Giza. The role involves overseeing all general accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage journal entries, reconciliations and month‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper recording of all transactions.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash‑flow activities.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to performance and internal controls.
• Review accounting processes and implement enhancements.
• Support the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc projects and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Proven experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and taxation.
• Experience with project accounting, cost control and contract accounting is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
