About the role
Integrant is looking for a Senior Lead Data Engineer in Cairo, a senior, hands-on leader who designs and builds data and AI solutions end to end. The role covers the full lifecycle of data for analytical consumption, from ingestion and storage to transformation, enrichment and presentation.
Key responsibilities
- Engage clients at multiple levels to elicit requirements, assess analytical challenges and turn them into technical proposals and solution designs.
- Select and customize analytical architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, data fabrics, data meshes) and justify them technically.
- Design and build agentic and LLM-powered solutions on top of modern data platforms.
- Lead hands-on implementation of data pipelines, warehouses and lakes, from design through performance tuning and production support.
- Build data strategies and coach clients and internal teams in architectures and methodologies such as DataOps and MLOps, including mentoring engineers.
Required profile
- 10-12 years of experience in data engineering, including hands-on delivery at a senior level.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another quantitative field; postgraduate degrees preferable.
- Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, write technical proposals and speak excellent English.
- Proven experience mentoring data engineers.
Required skills
- Expert SQL and strong Python (or Scala/Java); hands-on data warehouses on-premises and in the cloud.
- ETL/ELT with SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue or Spark; data quality tools such as dbt, Great Expectations, Soda.
- Semantic layers and OLAP models (SSAS, Power BI, LookML, dbt), workflow orchestration (Airflow, Databricks Workflows).
- Data lakes and lakehouses on cloud storage (ADLS Gen2, S3, GCS) with Delta Lake, Iceberg or Hudi; streaming pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Structured Streaming).
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), Snowflake or Databricks, and cost optimization.
- Data governance and security (Unity Catalog, Purview, Lake Formation, IAM, Vault), CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- LLM and agentic solutions (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, n8n) and AI-assisted development; DataOps.
