Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate & Institutional Banking

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal support to the Corporate & Institutional Banking division. The role will work across all business units, ensuring that commercial priorities are delivered within the bank’s legal risk appetite and regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal services for corporate banking, transaction banking, credit, finance, and international branch queries.
• Assist the bank in defining and implementing its legal risk strategy and related programs.
• Advise management teams on legal implications of business decisions and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Manage relationships with external counsel, monitoring service quality and cost effectiveness.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks, initiating corrective actions when necessary.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in an international law firm or banking legal department.
• Strong understanding of corporate and institutional banking products and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with business units and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
