Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Hikma is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its operations in Egypt and the broader MENA region. The role involves providing expert legal advice, drafting and negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate all types of legal contracts for internal and external parties, ensuring completeness and compliance with the MENA legal framework.
• Provide legal opinions on Egyptian law matters and develop, update, and maintain legal policies and standard operating procedures.
• Prepare corporate governance documents, such as resolutions, and liaise with relevant governmental authorities to maintain proper legal status for Hikma entities.
• Oversee day‑to‑day legal department operations, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures.
• Interact with external legal advisors, ministries, and other stakeholders, managing and supervising litigation cases with external law firms.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Egyptian law and familiarity with the broader MENA legal environment.
• Proven track record in contract drafting, negotiation, and corporate governance.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain legal policies, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing litigation and coordinating with external counsel.
