Senior Legal Manager – Egypt

About the role

Talabat is seeking a Senior Legal Manager to lead its legal function in Egypt. Reporting to the Regional Legal Department in Dubai, you will provide senior counsel to both Talabat and Instashop, ensuring compliance with local regulations while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance on corporate governance, compliance, commercial contracts, regulatory matters and litigation.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts in line with Egyptian law and company interests.
• Ensure adherence to Egyptian corporate, labor, tax, consumer protection and data‑privacy regulations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks, advising on business decisions and risk‑management strategies.
• Manage disputes, arbitrations, claims, investigations and settlements to minimise business impact.
• Advise on employee contracts, workplace policies and labour‑law compliance.
• Support corporate restructuring, entity management and board/shareholder governance activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop the local legal team, maintaining high standards of service delivery.
• Oversee relationships with external law firms, consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with regional legal, compliance, public affairs, tax, finance, HR, procurement, product and operations teams.

Required profile

• Law degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and a valid license to practice in Egypt.
• 7+ years of experience in corporate/commercial law, with proven leadership in a legal role.
• Prior in‑house legal experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the e‑commerce, tech, food‑delivery or digital sector is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Egyptian corporate, commercial, employment, consumer‑protection, tax and data‑privacy laws.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, problem‑solving and communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to align legal strategy with business objectives.
