Senior Manager, Data Architect

About the role

PwC ETIC is looking for a seasoned Data Architect (Senior Manager) to design and implement enterprise-level data platforms. The role focuses on defining, creating and overseeing scalable data architectures that let organisations use data for strategic business initiatives, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with hyperscale cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of scalable data architectures, including data models, data flow diagrams and integration architectures for transactional and analytical systems.
• Design and implement data platforms and end-to-end data pipelines (ingestion, storage, processing, analytics) that integrate with on-premise or cloud environments.
• Work with cloud engineering and DevOps teams to deploy, monitor and optimise cloud data solutions.
• Integrate data governance, data quality, metadata management, data lineage and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA) into the architecture, and work with security teams on encryption and access control.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, collaborating with business stakeholders, data scientists and analysts, and mentoring junior architects and data engineers.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and stay current on data architecture, big data and cloud platform trends.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and implementation of enterprise data platforms.
• Good experience with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a proven track record of cloud-native data platforms such as data lakes, warehouses and pipelines.
• Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Professional Data Engineer, CDMP.

Required skills

• Cloud data technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse and Databricks.
• Data modelling, data warehousing and ETL/ELT.
• Big data tools and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Knowledge of data governance, data security and compliance frameworks.
