Senior Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Senior Purchasing Manager will lead strategic sourcing and tendering for indirect spend across the group, driving cost‑saving initiatives and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Reporting to the Director of Operations Excellence, this role combines market analysis, supplier selection and contract management to create value for the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend, managing end‑to‑end sourcing activities including market analysis, RFI/RFP/RFQ, tender evaluation and total cost of ownership analysis.
• Lead supplier negotiations, draft and execute contracts, and maintain a centralized contract register with key dates, renewals and performance clauses.
• Act as primary commercial contact for assigned suppliers, conducting performance reviews, managing onboarding, disputes and developing alternative sources.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with group policies, delegation of authority and audit requirements, supporting internal and external audits.
• Partner with Finance, IT, Facilities, HR, Legal and business units to translate requirements into effective procurement strategies and support budgeting.
• Maintain and analyse group‑wide indirect spend data, producing spend reports, savings trackers and category dashboards.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in strategic sourcing, tendering and indirect procurement.
• Strong background in contract negotiation, supplier performance management and procurement governance.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, legal, operations and other stakeholders.
• Experience analysing spend data and delivering cost‑saving programmes.
