Senior SGBV Officer – Aswan

About the role

The Senior SGBV Officer will lead the contextualisation and adaptation of Save the Children’s SGBV standard operating procedures, tools and guidelines for the Egypt Country Office. Based in Aswan, the role provides technical and operational oversight of SGBV response and prevention activities, ensuring survivor‑centred case management and safe referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed a comprehensive SGBV system, SOPs, tools, manuals and curricula within the country office.
• Build capacity of case‑management teams and supervise case workers, coordinators and outreach staff.
• Ensure effective implementation of GBV response services, including assessments, referrals and follow‑up support, in line with minimum standards.
• Coordinate with health, legal, psychosocial and protection partners to maintain up‑to‑date referral pathways.
• Provide technical guidance, training and coaching on survivor‑centred approaches and data protection.
• Oversee documentation, data quality, and secure storage of case files, including use of GBVIMS+ and Prime systems.
• Represent SCI in the SGBV Working Group and contribute to trend analysis, reporting and budget planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SGBV response, prevention and case management, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of SGBV SOPs, data protection policies and multi‑sector coordination.
• Experience working with UN agencies and local service providers for referrals.
