Senior / Staff iOS Native Software Engineer

About the role

Expiwell is looking for a Senior / Staff iOS Native Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of its mobile platform used for experience sampling and ecological momentary assessment research. You will own system design, architecture, and long‑term evolution of both native iOS and emerging React Native components while ensuring strict compliance with clinical data standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural roadmap for the production iOS (Swift) and React Native applications.
• Design and optimise telemetry services that collect health and sensor data via HealthKit, SensorKit, CoreLocation and CoreMotion.
• Implement offline‑first persistence layers using CoreData and Secure Keychain, meeting HIPAA, GDPR and SOC 2 requirements.
• Develop high‑performance native bridging modules to connect Swift logic with React Native and JavaScript/TypeScript code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of native and cross‑platform features.

Required profile

• Extensive, battle‑tested experience building native iOS applications at a senior or staff level.
• Proven expertise with Apple health‑related frameworks (HealthKit, SensorKit) and location/motion services.
• Strong background in React Native and the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of data privacy and compliance standards in healthcare.
• Ability to lead architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers.
