Settlement & Chargeback Team Leader/Manager (Operations)

About the role

The Settlement & Chargeback Team Leader/Manager will oversee the end‑to‑end settlement and reconciliation processes for card and digital banking transactions. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role ensures compliance with internal policies, MasterCard/Visa regulations, and delivers accurate analytical reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Approve settlement and reconciliation of all card and digital banking transactions, including branch, ATM, Fawry, internet banking, e‑wallet and payroll payments.
• Manage relationships with ADIB, MasterCard, Visa and other banks to resolve pending purchases, rejected transactions, disputes and surplus entries.
• Review and approve settlement entries for on‑us/off‑us issuer and acquirer transactions, as well as FX transaction reporting to Treasury.
• Oversee chargeback processing, assign correct reason codes, monitor suspense accounts and ensure timely responses from MasterCard/Visa.
• Coordinate with Compliance & Governance on international transaction reporting and ensure adherence to RCSA standards.
• Provide periodic analytical reports and presentations to senior management.
• Lead a small team, deliver training, conduct performance evaluations and ensure continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in settlement, reconciliation and chargeback operations within banking or payments.
• Strong understanding of card payment ecosystems, ACH, SWIFT and FX reporting.
• Ability to manage relationships with external partners such as MasterCard, Visa and other banks.
• Leadership experience supervising a team and delivering training.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
