SGBV Senior Officer (Aswan)

About the role

The SGBV Senior Officer will lead the adaptation of sexual and gender‑based violence (SGBV) standard operating procedures, tools and case management approaches for Save the Children’s Egypt Country Office. Based in Aswan, the role provides technical and operational oversight of response and prevention activities for refugee and migrant survivors, including case management and mental health‑psychosocial support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed a comprehensive SGBV system, SOPs, tools, manuals and curricula within the country office.
• Provide technical and operational oversight of SGBV response services, ensuring safe, confidential case management, referrals and follow‑up in line with Save the Children standards.
• Supervise, mentor and build capacity of case workers, coordinators and outreach staff, delivering regular training, coaching and supervision.
• Coordinate with health, legal, psychosocial and protection partners to maintain up‑to‑date referral pathways and ensure timely access to services.
• Monitor data quality, confidentiality and compliance with data protection policies; oversee documentation in the GBVIMS+ and Prime systems.
• Prepare regular program updates, trend analyses, reports and contribute to budget planning and work‑plan development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading SGBV programmes, case management and MHPSS interventions in humanitarian settings.
• Strong knowledge of survivor‑centred approaches, ethical standards and data protection requirements.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and delivering capacity‑building activities.
• Ability to develop SOPs, tools and training materials and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including UN agencies.
• Relevant academic background in gender, protection, public health or related fields.
