Shift Lead – Operations & Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Air Liquide is seeking a Shift Lead to oversee daily production and maintenance activities at its Sadat City facility. The role ensures safe, reliable operation of the plant, supports on‑call duties and collaborates with regional experts and the SIO centre.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive and corrective (M1) maintenance tasks while adhering to occupational and process safety standards.
• Manage emergency response procedures, plant security plans and work‑permit compliance.
• Monitor plant performance via DCS and other control systems, respond to alarms and troubleshoot issues on‑call.
• Oversee automated loading and unloading of raw materials and products, ensuring safe material handling.
• Execute start‑up and shut‑down sequences in accordance with SOPs.
• Collaborate with contract and in‑house maintenance teams for equipment handover and isolation.
• Participate in SOP development, continuous improvement and asset‑availability initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in industrial operations or maintenance within a production environment.
• Knowledge of safety, emergency management and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work in an on‑call rotation and respond promptly to plant alarms.

Required skills

• Distributed Control System (DCS) operation.
• Automated loading system handling.
• Analyzer checks and routine equipment inspections.
• Preventive and corrective (M1) maintenance procedures.
• SOP writing and implementation.
• Energy control and isolation techniques.
