Social Policy & Child Rights Monitoring Internship – Cairo

About the role

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Social Policy and Child Rights Monitoring (SPCRM) team in Cairo. Over a six‑week placement, you will work under the guidance of a Social Policy Specialist, gaining hands‑on experience in research, data analysis and programme support aimed at improving social protection for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing research papers and reviewing evidence documents.
• Analyze and visualise primary and secondary data sets.
• Prepare briefs, internal documentation and communication materials such as social‑media posts.
• Support programming activities that enhance access to social protection for disadvantaged children.
• Help organise knowledge‑dissemination events and capacity‑building activities with academic partners.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme in Economics, Political Science, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong academic record.
• Fluent in Arabic and proficient in English (or French/Spanish).
• Egyptian or international candidates eligible to apply.
