Software Engineer – Node.js

About the role

CEQUENS is seeking a passionate Software Engineer with strong Node.js expertise to help build and scale its messaging and automation platform. You will work across the stack, designing robust backend services, integrating AI capabilities, and creating interactive workflow UIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs.
• Architect systems for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Build and optimise message‑queue‑driven workflows using BullMQ and ActiveMQ.
• Develop node‑based UI components for workflow builders with React Flow.
• Integrate third‑party platforms such as Meta APIs, WhatsApp Business Cloud API, and payment gateways.
• Implement AI/ML features including Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and ranking systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams and contribute to technical decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Python.
• Hands‑on experience with message queues (BullMQ, ActiveMQ).
• Solid understanding of system design and scalable architecture.
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication.
• Team‑player attitude.
