Software Engineer – Open Source Contributor (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to contribute production‑quality code to open‑source projects on a remote, contract basis. You will work 10‑40 hours per week, collaborating with a global community of contributors.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute production‑quality code, conduct code reviews, and write documentation for open‑source repositories.
• Design, implement, and optimise complex algorithms and system components.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with other contributors and stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals.
• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code discussions and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Strong experience contributing to open‑source projects with visible GitHub or GitLab profiles.
• Demonstrated ability to work on large‑scale, distributed codebases (preferred).
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine‑learning systems (a plus).
