Staff Android Engineer (Financial Services)

About the role

Yassir is expanding its super‑app platform into financial services across the Maghreb and beyond. As a Staff Android Engineer you will set technical standards, guide multiple squads, and shape the roadmap for Android applications that enable users to pay, save, and borrow digitally.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core features for consumer‑facing Android apps.
• Provide technical leadership, manage cross‑team dependencies, and drive architecture decisions.
• Conduct design and code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and remove technical blockers.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Participate in architecture discussions and define the technical roadmap.
• Lead technical interviews and help raise engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of Android development experience, including at least 3 years with Kotlin.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for solving problems.
• Deep understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git in team environments and mobile DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record of publishing Android applications to the Play Store.
• Background in fast‑growing on‑demand or fintech startups is a plus.
