Steel Structure Design Engineer

About the role

T-Labs Engineering is seeking an experienced Steel Structure Design Engineer to join its on‑site engineering team in Alexandria. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality structural designs for industrial and process‑plant projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations and design steel frameworks for industrial, chemical, oil & gas, and process‑plant projects.
• Develop detailed design drawings, connection details, and fabrication outputs using industry‑standard software.
• Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, piping, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Review and validate design documentation for accuracy, safety, and constructability.
• Maintain rigorous attention to detail and uphold engineering quality throughout all project phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in steel structure engineering, design, and detailing.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary environments on complex industrial projects.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP2000 and/or STAAD for structural analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Tekla Structures for modeling and detailing.
• Experience preparing and reviewing design drawings, connection details, and fabrication documentation.
