Switchboard Design Engineer – Electrical Design (Low & Medium Voltage)

About the role

ElectraTec is seeking a skilled Switchboard Design Engineer to join its Engineering Department. The role focuses on the electrical design of low‑voltage switchboards and medium‑voltage Ring Main Units, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, IEC standards, and internal quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design low‑voltage switchboards and medium‑voltage Ring Main Units, including MDBs, MCCs, PCCs, ATS panels, capacitor banks, and control panels.
• Review tender documents, customer specifications, and single‑line diagrams to develop compliant design solutions.
• Prepare general arrangement drawings, single‑line, schematic, wiring diagrams, and detailed bill of materials.
• Select appropriate electrical components, busbar systems, protection devices, and enclosure configurations.
• Coordinate with procurement to optimize component selection and material availability.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, factory acceptance tests, and site commissioning.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and participate in value‑engineering initiatives.
• Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and support the sales team with technical clarifications.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented engineer with strong coordination skills across sales, estimation, production, procurement, and project teams.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective design packages on schedule.
